CIS - Study at Swinburne University of Technology
Australia
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Dates: Fall: late July to late November; Spring: mid-February to mid-June
Description:
Are you looking for an urban study abroad experience? If so, Swinburne University of Technology is the perfect school for you. Located just 10 minutes from the heart of Melbourne the Hawthorne campus is set amongst cafes, boutiques and bookshops. As a Swinburne University of Technology study abroad student, you'll have access to a wide variety of courses from across the disciplines including Business and Enterprise; Engineering and Industrial Sciences; Communications, Life and Social Sciences; and Design.
Highlights:
As an International Student you have the support of the International Office, which arranges an airport reception and orientation program for you, assists you with any needs you have, and provides on-going advising during your stay. As part of your CIS program, you will take part in a tailor made 3-day, two night Australian Orientation. It is our hope that this orientation will help you not only adjust to your new home away from home (and time zone, of course), but also to Aussie life, travel, education, and Australian and Aboriginal culture. We are sure that it will provide the perfect introduction to Aussie life, as well as a smooth transition into your study abroad experience. After exploring Sydney, Zoos, an Aboriginal Walkabout, and bush walking in the Blue Mountains you continue on to your study abroad experience at Swinburne. Upon arrival you'll be picked up at the airport and taken to your accommodation. From there you'll attend your host university's orientation and you'll be on your way to a life-changing experience! Swinburne's main campuses are located in the fashionable inner-urban villages of Hawthorn and Prahran, our students can easily make the most of their time in Melbourne. Plus there are more than 60 student clubs at Swinburne and they organise activities ranging from trips to see an Australian Rules 'Footy' match, to road trips along the Great Ocean Road, where you can check out some of Australia's best surf beaches.
