Description:
The Queen Mary Study Abroad programme is fully integrated - so you will be living and studying alongside our other students from the UK and from the many other countries from which we attract students - giving you a genuinely British and international academic and social experience. Queen Mary is based at the Mile End campus - a unique urban campus which includes all academic and support facilities as well as housing for students on the programme. The Queen Mary programme has been running for more than thirty years, it is designed for students at an overseas university who would like to study with us for one or two semesters. We operate a course unit (credit) system, which allows students to take courses from a variety of departments and makes transfer of credit back home very straightforward. You will be able to choose courses from any of our subject areas: Art History, Biological & Chemical Sciences, Business Management, Computer Science, Drama, Economics, Engineering, English, Environmental Studies, European literature and cultural studies, Film, French Studies, Geography, German Studies, Hispanic Studies, History, Italian Studies, Law, Mathematics, Physics, Politics and International Relations. Typically you will register for four courses in a semester. Queen Mary is one of the largest colleges of the internationally renowned University of London. It has an international reputation for academic excellence in teaching and research and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The College incorporates the world famous Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, a major centre for medical and dental teaching and research and one of the oldest medical schools in Europe. We have over 13000 students enrolled on our campus. Approximately 20 percent of these come from outside the UK and represent over 100 countries from around the world making Queen Mary a vibrant international student community. The College is located in the vibrant East End, the focus for London's artistic and student communities. Two miles east of the Tower of London and close to the new Docklands financial centre the campus is just 15 minutes by underground from the main tourist sites of the city. The 2012 Olympics site is currently under development 1 mile east of the campus. The College boasts excellent teaching and support facilities including a modern, award-winning library which has study space for a thousand students. All students have free access to email and the Internet. The student computer ratio is one of the highest in the UK and workstations can be found throughout the departments of the College. You will be housed on campus in our recently built, award winning, student residences. Rooms are single study bedrooms, the majority with private bathroom facilities.
