Description: Located in the Shannon region in Midwest Ireland, Limerick is a vibrant city of considerable historic and literary interest. Spend your semester abroad studying at the University of Limerick, located on the outskirts of town along the River Shannon. At the University of Limerick you are able to study a wide range of subjects including business, humanities, Irish studies and equine science.

The University of Limerick is known for their world-class sporting facilities which are utilized by the many sporting clubs and societies on campus. CIS now offers a Fall Semester Rugby Abroad program at UL in which you will train and play with the Bohemian Rugby Club at a level comparable with skill. Highlights: The University is located on a riverside campus at the heart of the 600-acre National Technological Park at Plassey, three miles above the ancient city of Limerick. Founded in 1972, Limerick has quickly gained a reputation among Irish universities for its innovatively designed courses as well as for its excellent academic standards. The University is home to some collections of fine Irish Art, the Irish Chamber Orchestra and the Irish World Music Center.

Over 9,300 full-time and 700 part-time students are enrolled at the University. The Study Abroad Office staff will be your guides from the time you enter until the time you depart.

Scholarship - Through this program scholarship awards varying from USD 200 to USD 500 per semester are available to academically qualified students who are participating in any CIS semester. CIS Partner University Scholarships - Through this program scholarship awards varying from USD 500 to USD 1,000 per semester are available to academically qualified students who are participating in this program.
