Description: Academia Discovery is a small language institute in the heart of Guanajuato, Mexico. Discovery has been accepting students for more than fifteen years, and the owner and director Lila Alanis keeps the school true to its mission of affordable language education for all. Truly a magical place, Discovery cares about its students. Discovery is staffed by native English, Spanish, and Mandarin speakers. All of the staff members are warm, welcoming, and patient with everyone. The school offers grammar and conversation classes as well as courses in Mexican art, dance, literature, and cooking.

Discovery provides airport pickup and drop off, housing with Mexican and American families, tours of the city, nightly activities, and more than anything, an informative home base to start exploring Guanajuato and the rest of Mexico. Discovery is the only language school in Guanajuato approved by the Secretary of Education, and state approved diplomas are issued when required courses have been successfully completed. Discovery happily works with high school students hoping to take the AP exam, college students in need of college credit, children, families, and individuals with curiosity.
