Only 12 miles from Christchurch, the largest city on the South Island of New Zealand, Lincoln University's beautiful campus is also near the small rural town of Lincoln. One of eight public universities in New Zealand, Lincoln University draws students from more than 60 nations worldwide. Students have access to the full range of offerings in the Christchurch area, including beaches, parks, bicycling, shops, galleries, cafes, theaters and nightclubs. Activities for students include everything from rugby to wine-tasting, as well as those offered by the Lincoln Surf/Snowboard Club ('Surfing in summer and snowboarding in winter') and the Alpine Club (hiking, tramping, and skiing). The campus has tennis courts, a golf driving range, eateries, and a superb Recreation Centre with a variety of workout equipment. Lincoln University Students' Association (LUSA) organizes a full program of social and sporting activities throughout the year. Lincoln has on-campus housing for 570 students. Each student living in on-campus housing has his or her own room. Students can choose to use the on-campus meal plans or cook for themselves in the self-catered halls.

Over 50% of our participants joined Study Australia on a pre-semester trip last semester. Past trip destinations and options include: - South Island, New Zealand - Learn to Surf - Great Barrier Reef/Whitsunday Islands - Auckland - Wellington - Manawatu Region - Christchurch - Queenstown - Glacier Country - Dunedin * Lincoln University enjoys an international reputation for teaching and research that supports growth and development in the land-based sectors. The university excels in areas related to resource management and is world-renowned in areas such as agriculture and agricultural science, horticulture, viticulture and oenology, environmental management and landscape architecture. * Lincoln University is also noted for its industry relevant commerce degrees and programs, including hotel management, food science and software and information technology. * Lincoln University offers more than 500 course options in its four main academic divisions: Agriculture and Life Sciences; Commerce; Environment, Society and Design; and Bio-protection and Ecology. * The university is home to the government-sponsored Bio-Protection Research Centre, the only Centre of Research Excellence on the South Island. * Well known as a friendly and supportive place to study, Lincoln University emphasises personal service. An 'open-door' policy means that lecturers are on hand to discuss projects, essays or lectures. * Founded in 1878, Lincoln is New Zealand's third-oldest university. * Picturesque 143-acre campus is situated in a park like setting. * Staff to student ratio of 1:14 allows every student to receive individual attention * Modern facilities, with teaching spaces, an excellent library and other student amenities located on the one campus.
