Academic Focus: French Studies: Language, Culture, Literature. Program Information: Become immersed in French language, culture and literature. this program is geared towards students with intermediate to advanced French levels. Enjoy excursions to the theater, ballet, Chartres, the Loire Valley, Giverny, Versailles, and the champagne caves and cathedral in Reims. All courses are in French. Curriculum, housing, and excursions are designed to build proficiency in French and to increase knowledge of French customs and institutions. Eligibility Requirements: Two semesters of college-level French or equivalent. Minimum 2.0 GPA; good academic standing; at least 18 years of age; completion of a full year of college; and currently enrolled in a college/university. Summer: For Summer 2010 applications will be accepted starting January 4. The deadline for receipt of applications is March 2. Please note that some programs close before the end of January.
Highlights:
Courses: The course of study is on intermediate and advanced levels. All program participants are required to select two courses for a total of eight Emory credit hours. The French classes are taught only in French. FREN 201 Intermediate French Description: 4 credit hours FREN 205 Practical Conversation Description: 4 credit hours FREN 312 Histoire de France Description: 4 credit hours FREN 488 French Theater Description: 4 credit hours Living Arrangements: Students may choose either to live in private homes with French families or in a pension.

The total cost includes an academic fee for eight credit hours, cultural activities and excursions (USD 7,120), insurance, room, and two meals daily (USD 2,750).
