IFSA-Butler at the University of Westminster
England
- Surrounding London:
Westminster
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring, Summer
Dates: September - June
Description:
The University of Westminster is very conveniently located in the heart of central London. The university's location affords students a great way to study and easily explore all that London has to offer to any visitor. However, the university's location in the middle of a sprawling urban area means that several different campuses are spread throughout different areas of central London. Westminster does not have the 'self-contained environment' feel that many American campuses have. In fact, the main administrative building is right in the middle of a busy business district, and it could be easily mistaken for an office building. For this reason, students attending Westminster should be prepared to commute to and from classes. All campuses and living units at Westminster are readily accessible by the London subway, referred to as the 'Tube.' There will most likely be a commute from housing to class, as well as a commute from one class to the next. The University of Westminster has an excellent internship program. Students who want an internship will take two classes worth four credits each plus the internship, which is worth eight credits. Please contact the Institute for Study Abroad to receive an internship application. If your application is on time and you are accepted into the school, Westminster guarantees that you will have at least an interview for an internship once you arrive in London. Due to the number of students requesting internships, you will not be notified of the interview or company details until after your arrival in London.
