2 Year Wilderness Tourism Lodge Management
Canada
Term: Throughout the year
Dates: anytime
Description:
The Wilderness Tourism Lodge Management Program is designed to cover every aspect of a Wilderness Lodge operation from Housekeeping to Management. We have designed the program into 3 departments. The kitchen department covers cooking, serving, housekeeping and wilderness applications. The office department covers basic administration duties, accounts & reservations and sales & marketing. The ranch operations department covers maintenance, animal husbandry, natural resources and seasonal operations. Each department has 4 modules and progresses from entry-level duties to a management level over a course of 6 months each. Each of these modules is divided into 4 weeks training and 2 weeks Co-Op. The program is set up so a student can study full time over a two 2 year period. Alternatively, modules can be completed at different times according to the students schedule. The Co-op portion of the program allows the student to get the hands on work experience that is crucial to gaining employment in the hospitality industry. This is done on site in the real life Wilderness Tourism Lodge environment. The opportunity also presents itself to take part in a practicum once completed an elective course.
Highlights:
Activities in your freetime include horse back riding, cross-country skiing through snow-covered forests, hiking through the valley to look for animal tracks, or going to a nearby lake for some swimming, or fishing in one of the many creeks.
