Description: Examine the economic environment of the Gulf with a focus on issues in the Sultanate of Oman, a country whose geopolitically strategic location and dedication to economic liberalization are increasingly attracting foreign investors. Oman's rentier economy and a private sector where only one in ten workers is native Omani, however, are challenges to rapid diversification. similar issues also face other Gulf nations, where workforce nationalization policies have been implemented.
