The Island Center for the Arts is a Cooperating Institute of Massachusetts College of Art that presents Art Programs on the beautiful Greek island of Skopelos. The courses we offer are designed to allow you to immerse yourself in your artwork and in the life and culture of a Greek Island. At the Island Center you'll receive individualized instruction in small classes with experienced professors and instructors, while the stunning visual surroundings and cultural differences provide new sources of inspiration. Our classes give artists of all levels the opportunity to expand their artistic vision in response to the legendary light and color of the Aegean. Courses offerings include: Painting, Printmaking, Encaustic, Book Arts and Teacher Institutes.
Highlights:
All programs include a series of cultural workshops that enhance your total experience and provide you with an insight into Greek culture past and present. 2-week Programs begin with a 2 day field trip to Athens, highlighted by tours of the Acropolis and the National Archaeological Museum. Select programs include a field trip to the ancient Santuary of Apollo at Delphi. College credit and PDPs available.
