AIFS Study Abroad in Grenoble, Grenoble School of Management
France
Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Dates: September - May (Academic Year), September - December (Fall Semester), January - May (Spring Semester)
Description:
The crystal-clear air and snow-capped mountains of the French Alps provide a picturesque setting in which to study. Grenoble is small enough to feel like a town but large enough to offer all the amenities of a busy city. Built on the banks of two alpine rivers, medieval buildings and cobbled streets give a romantic air to the older part of town, while museums, theaters, cultural festivals, cafés and bistros explain why Grenoble is the leading city in the region. AIFS students take courses at the Grenoble School of Management, one of Europe's best management schools. The School promotes leadership in management of technology and expertise in intercultural management for a technology-intensive economy and offers a wide variety of business courses, including accounting, communications, economics, management, and marketing. No previous study of French language is required, and all courses are taught in English (except French language courses). Fees include the basics and the extras: tuition, housing in a homestay, meals, cultural activities, excursions to Provence and Geneva, airfare if selected, services of an on-site Resident Director, and more.
Highlights:
AIFS students live in homestays and receive breakfast and dinner, as well as a meal allowance for lunch. Cultural activities include walking tours of medieval Grenoble, a visit to the beautiful lake of Annecy, wine and cheese tastings, visits to the art museum, hikes, picnics, skiing, and a visit to the Chartreuse Monastery to taste the "elixir of life" from a recipe known to only three living monks. Students can also enroll in French cuisine and wine appreciation classes. Students have a London stopover at the beginning of the semester, and they visit Provence and Geneva during the semester. Fall students also visit Venice, and Spring students enjoy a week-long winter sports activity week.
