Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 30 programs throughout the world. Using Berlin as a case study, this program examines social and cultural issues relevant to major cities today. Through unique interdisciplinary courses, students study topics such as Cultural Identity, Gender and Sexual Politics, Multiculturalism, and Urban Studies. Field study trips to St. Petersburg and Paris provide a comparative context for the program. No previous German language study is required.
