Since 1950, IES Abroad has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES Abroad offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in almost 80 programs throughout the world. IES Abroad Cape Town offers students the opportunity to explore the culture, social, and economical landscape of South Africa. The program acquaints all students with the history of South Africa through a required core course that investigates political, economic, religious, and social events from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present. Students also choose an elective course that focuses on an important aspect of Environmental, Social/Economic, or Health Care/Community Development in South Africa and is linked to an internship, field placement, or field research project.
