Since 1950, IES Abroad has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. Designed for students interested in gaining a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and development, the IES Abroad Shanghai program is organized in partnership with the School of Social Development and Public Policy at Fudan University, one of the top universities in China. The program offers unique field placement seminars covering topics such as economic development and social change, in addition to elective IES-Fudan courses taught in English and a 6-credit Chinese Language course. The joint IES-Fudan courses provide students the unique opportunity to learn in English with Chinese peers. Courses are complemented by two unique field study trips to Hong Kong and Guangzhou (Fall) and Taiwan (Spring), in addition to IES-organized cultural events.
