Description:
Denmark is well known for its commitment to areas such as alternative energy, energy conservation, public transportation, urban planning, and ecologically and socially sustainable architectural design. Through coursework and hands-on field visits around Scandinavia, the program offers a broad understanding of the links and tensions between environmental challenges and sustainable solutions, and a Scandinavian perspective on best practices within urban development and transportation, alternative energy sources and energy conservation, and waste management. Prerequisites: General DIS prerequisites Core Courses: "Sustainable Technology and Culture in Scandinavia" (Session 1) and "Managing Sustainability: Scandinavian Case Studies" (Session 2)
Highlights:
The program includes a one-week study tour in Denmark & Norway (environmental research, business, and sustainable urban planning) during the first session and a one-week study tour to Sweden & Finland (environmental research, business, and sustainable urban planning) during the second session.
