Description:
European Politics & Society courses are designed for students majoring in political science, comparative politics, international relations, or related fields. They offer you insights into how Europe deals with 21st-century risks to security and prosperity. Topics range from terroism and failed states to security concerns over climate change and energy. Insights and analytical tools gained through the courses will help you manoeurve in, and understand the challenges facing, an ever more globalized world. Prerequisites: General DIS prerequisites Core Course: "Danish Politics and Society" (Session 1) and "Terrorism and Conterterrorism in International Politics" (Session 2)
Highlights:
The program includes a three day study tour in Denmark (visits to political institutions, plus cultural-historical sites) during the first session and a five day study tour to Belfast (effects of terrorism and counter-terrorism in a religious conflict) during the second session.
