Dates: Session 1 (May 22-Jun 12) and/or Session 2 (Jun 12-Jul 3)

Description: European Culture & History courses are designed for students majoring in the humanities. "Danish Language & Culture" offers level 1 language instruction and introduces you to Danish culture and history- and the Danes! "Nordic Mythology" uncovers the religion and world-view of the pre-Christian Scandinavians in the Viking Age.

Through a combination of coursework, field observations and multiple hands on study visits to premier art museums and galleries, each course will familiarize you with the beliefs and values of Denmark in the present as well as in the past.

Prerequisites: General DIS prerequisites

Core Courses: "Danish Language & Culture" (Session 1) and "Nordic Mythology" (Session 2)

Highlights: The program includes a three study tour within Denmark (museums, institutions, and cultural-historical sites) during the first session and a five day study tour to Iceland at the end of the second session program (sites and museums relating to Viking settlement and history).

Degree Level: Bachelors Degree (Undergraduate)

Minimum Education: High School
