United States
Term: Not Applicable
Dates: Sessions begin: August; October; January; March; May; End of June
Description:
The University of West Florida Intensive English Program is for all students who want to learn English. Our primary focus is academic English, but all serious students of English are welcome. We offer two seven-week sessions in both fall and spring and two six-week sessions in the summer term. Students may start at the beginning of each session. The IEP is designed to help non-native speakers develop skill for personal, academic, and professional purposes. All of our teachers have experience in teaching English to speakers of other languages. The program helps students improve the listening, speaking, reading, grammar, writing, and vocabulary to study in an American university. It also includes some specific skills for the TOEFL. Instruction is on 4 levels, and students are given a placement test. Class size averages 10. UWF offers conditional admission. Interested students must apply for UWF admission and meet all requirements other than English language proficiency. They must also apply to the IEP at the same time. All required documents for both applications must be submitted.
