From the ancient stone circles to the modern shopping centers and airports, Ireland is a country that spans human history. Come discover the amazing secrets of the "Emerald Isle"- Study in Ireland! Come spend a semester or a year at what is widely considered the most beautiful university campus in Ireland: the University of Limerick. The University is only three miles from Limerick, a city rich with traditional Irish culture, situated on the banks of the River Shannon. Founded by the Vikings over a thousand years ago and home to the famous St. John's Castle, Limerick is simultaneously ancient and modern. Nestled in the verdant hills of Ireland's west, the World Endeavors' program at the University of Limerick combines robust academics with an authentic Irish experience.
Highlights:
The University of Limerick is located only three miles from the bustling city of Limerick in western Ireland. Well-known for its vibrant night life, Limerick offers plenty of modern clubs as well as more traditional Irish pubs. Proud home to the ancient St. John's Castle and the Irish World Music Centre, Limerick also has a reputation as a major cultural and historic site. For sightseers, there is a multitude of walking and hiking trails traversing the famously green countryside, and the Irish capital of Dublin is only a two hour's train ride away. For international trekkers, the Shannon International Airport is only 30 minutes away. Over 6,000 full-time and 3,000 part-time students are enrolled at the University of Limerick, many of whom live on campus. The University offers state-of-the-art sporting facilities, including an elite weight training suite and the first 50 meter swimming pool in Ireland. The Student Union offers clubs and societies as well as holiday parties, which are a great way to make new friends. Excursions There are several excursions included in the program, including a trip to Dublin each semester, as well as a weekend trip to another county in Ireland. There are also numerous cultural events that students can participate in for free, including concerts and performances.
