Intensive Russian Summer is for students ready to get serious about their Russian. With 125 contact hours packed into just five weeks, this is one of the most intensive programs available anywhere. The program is designed to help the student prepare for taking the TORFL (Level 1 or 2). TORFL is the measure of Russian language proficiency recognized in Russia for purposes of entry for university study, teaching, and even citizenship and is increasingly recognized internationally. The cost of taking the test are included in this program. This program is open to students with at least 4 semesters (total) of college-level Russian or semesters abroad in the FSU or who have successfully completed at least one semester of college-level Russian and Russian Studies Summer I. It is designed to be flexible enough to accommodate intermediate, advanced, or heritage speakers of Russian.
Highlights:
The 125 contact hours are broken down into the following comprehensive curriculum: * 15 academic hours per week small group study * 10 academic hours per week individual (or paired) tutoring** * 10 hours per week assigned reading/translation * TORFL including exam preparation ** Advanced students may use tutoring hours to focus on specialized language (business, technical) or individualized projects in linguistics, literature or translation.
