Highlights:
Playa Flamingo is set on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica in the province of Guanacaste. A paradise of lush vegetation and crystal clear waters, Flamingo Beach is the perfect place for students to enjoy a relaxing beachside vacation while perfecting their Spanish. When you learn Spanish in Flamingo Beach, you will acquire an intimate understanding of traditional Costa Rican culture, since the majority of our home stays are located in the nearby, typical Guanacasteco towns of Potrero, Brasilito, Lajas and Huacas. Flamingo Beach itself is a close-knit area of about 32,000 with surprisingly few tourists, so students can take advantage of an authentic, personalized experience with the language and culture of the country. Despite Playa Flamingo's modest size, it's impossible to get bored here, with a plethora of nearby beaches to explore and exciting activities like water sports, scuba diving, canopy tours, horseback riding, boat safaris, hiking in the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, and observation of night turtle nesting. If you're interested in learning Spanish with white sand beaches and an eco-wonderland at your doorstep, Flamingo Beach is the place for you. Costa Rica Cultural Activities Cultural activities take place in the library 2-3 times per week, and once a month we invite you to celebrate "cultural week" with special events. Some activities are free, but the average price for an afternoon excursion is $30. The most common activities are: * Latin dance classes (salsa, merengue and cumbia) * Trips to local beaches * Literature or handicrafts workshops Costa Rica Excursions Our Spanish schools in Flamingo Beach, Monteverde and Heredia, Costa Rica offer excursions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and weekends. Weekend excursions may cost between $145 and $185.
