Discover literature of Spain and the Arabic influences this summer! Spain is a modern European nation whose rich Iberian and Arabic heritage is still felt in the rhythms of daily life. There is no better place to study Spanish than Spain! You'll journey to Madrid, the nation's bustling capital and economic center. While visiting such sites as the Plaza Mayor, museums and ancient streets, you'll practice your Spanish as you order meals in restaurants or shop in the city's trendy boutiques. Then you'll proceed to historic Cadiz, a metropolis founded by Phoenician merchants. As you explore the white-washed houses and tropical vegetation of southern Spain, you'll gain an understanding of the cultural and political dynamics influencing this ancient and beautiful land. Or take an Arabic course in Cadiz and venture for a day trip to the exotic reaches of Morocco, which gave Spain its Arabic influence. In both Madrid and Cadiz is dormitory accommodations double room occupancy, breakfast is included on the program. Students can spend time in Spain during our Summer program that takes place in both Madrid and Cadiz. Students taking part in the Spain program will also have the chance to take part in a field trip to Tangiers, Morroco.
