Surrounded by a castle and cathedral dating back to the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, discover the heart of France in Angers. Experience the best of the medieval and the modern in this colorful city nestled in the beautiful Loire Valley. Stroll down cobblestone streets, explore beautiful gardens, and visit museums. Take the high-speed train to Paris, just an hour and a half to the northeast. Study on the campus of the Universite Catholique de l'Ouest, close to the city center. Immerse yourself in French life and culture.

What will you study? Ideal for French majors and minors, this program appeals to students from many disciplines with courses in history, sociology, political science, French culture, and civilization. Classes take place at the international language institute (CIDEF) of the Universite Catholique de l'Ouest. CIDEF is recognized as a leader in language education for students of all levels. Each session during the academic year, a visiting U.S. faculty member teaches one course incorporating specially designed excursions in the surrounding region.
