Description:
Lancaster University is located near the heart of the United Kingdom's Lake District. This area provides a beautiful, lush background for throngs of visitors from around the world. In fact, the District is widely known as one of the most breathtaking tourist attractions in England. While there are several lakes in the region, the District is host to England's largest lake, Lake Windermere. The locale provides ample opportunity for countless leisure activities. Sailing, scuba diving, canoeing, and fishing are among the most popular pastimes in the region. Hill walking is an extremely popular pursuit, as well. A sojourner can go on a short low-level stroll or might opt for a more demanding all-day excursion. If your inclinations do not lean toward sporting ventures, you might choose to visit some of the District's more unusual museums. Whether your passion is steamboats or toys, museums abound. In addition, the environment has proven to be inspirational to various poets, novelists, and artists. For example, Beatrix Potter and Wordsworth wrote their great works in the area. Their former homes are opened to the public.
