Full Curriculum Studies: St Andrews, Scotland

  Scotland
    Edinburgh

Term: Academic Year, Fall, Spring
Dates: Fall: September - January, Spring: February - May

Description: The University of St Andrews is the oldest university in Scotland, founded around 1402, and over the years has earned an international reputation for academic excellence. It is located about an hour's train ride north of Edinburgh on the beautiful Bay of St Andrews. While studying at the university, USAC students have the opportunity to take courses in such diverse subjects as International Relations, Scottish History, Management, Astrophysics, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Geochemistry, Medieval History, Practical Theology and more. You are encouraged to participate in the many student societies on campus, ranging from the academic (History Society) to the cultural ('Dead Poets' Society) and to join any of the university sporting clubs. Because the university is located throughout the small city of St Andrews, the university students have a close relationship with the townspeople and are an integral part of the community.

Highlights: In addition to enrolling in the university, students are able to participate fully in university activities, student organizations, and sports and also have full access to the advising, library, and computing facilities at St Andrews. There are almost a hundred student societies ranging from the academic (e.g. The History Society, Chem Society, etc.) to the cultural (the Music Society, Celtic Society, "Dead Poets", Drama Club, etc.), to political, sporting (tiddlywinks!), and downright silly (Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Appreciation Society).
