Description: Semester or academic year program at Deakin University. Students take a total of 15 credits from the variety of courses offered there. Students may study at either the Melbourne-Burwood campus or the Geelong-Waurn Ponds campus.

The program is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors matriculated at an accredited U.S. college or university. Students must be in good academic standing. Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale. The application requires an official transcript of all college-level work, two letters of recommendation, and an essay. Applications are available from the Marist International Programs office or online.

Orientation:

A three-day orientation will help students adjust to life in Australia. Day one focuses on Deakin academic requirements, and students will able to mix with study advisers from all faculties. The following two days will feature a range of social activities like surfing lessons and guided hikes plus workshop sessions on successful cultural integration. An Aboriginal dance ceremony on the first evening will introduce students to our indigenous people and discussions will focus on contemporary Aboriginal Australia. At the end of the three days, students will be transported to their campus of study and participate in a campus specific orientation.
