Semester or academic year program at Macquarie University, outside downtown Sydney. Students take a total of 15 credits from the variety of courses offered. The program is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors matriculated at an accredited U.S. college or university. Students must be in good academic standing. Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. The application requires an official transcript of all college-level work, two letters of recommendation, and an essay. Applications are available from the Marist International Programs office or online.

Established in 1967, the university has been a pioneer in Australian higher education, with innovative ideas about university teaching and research. The university is known internationally for its ground-breaking research in areas as diverse as biology, earth sciences, laser physics, mathematics, ancient history, psychology, linguistics, management and education. Orientation: An onsite orientation program is held in the week prior to the commencement of classes in both Fall and Spring semesters. Issues covered include settling into Sydney, culture shock, accommodation, health insurance, clubs and societies, email access, study skills, weekend trips and social events. Orientation also includes icebreaker activities, which help students get to know each other, and concludes with a dinner hosted by the International Office.
