Description:
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is a unique institution with an international reputation for attracting outstanding faculty and researchers from all parts of Israel and the world. USAC students begin their studies with an intensive six-week language course in Hebrew. You then continue your Hebrew studies throughout the semester while taking elective courses in a wide range of disciplines, all taught in English. Courses such as Contemporary Hebrew Theater, Geology of the Desert, Negev Bedouin Society in Transition and The Peace Process in the Middle East are offered. You may also supplement your university coursework with internships or independent research projects. The university is located in Beer Sheva, a multi-cultural city that has a diverse selection of cultural and social events and a large Bedouin population. Students are encouraged to take part in campus organizations, activities and sports.
Highlights:
Students in the Beer Sheva program may supplement their university coursework with internships or independent research projects. These activities greatly enhance the study abroad experience by immersing students into Israeli society at the community level and allowing them to experience various aspects of Israel from within.
