Description:
Our school is located in the neighbourhood of Santurce, one of the most vibrant areas of the capital. The school is on the first floor of the building and offers a relaxed and warm atmosphere to study spanish, with modern facilities. The school is between 20 - 35 minutes bus ride on public transportation, to the beaches, night life and the Old SanJuan. (A free electric trolley runs around the old city and the time it takes is only due to the nature of public transportation, the bus stops every 2 blocks or so and no transfers are required. The school offers a spacious reception area, 13 air-conditioned classrooms, cable TV, kitchen, reception area, video room, daycare for children and parking. The school holds about 150 students and the school also teaches English to local students. In the Institute's lobby there is a bulletin board with a list of suggested activities and students are encouraged to participate in the activities advertised.
Highlights:
The capital San Juan, (population about one million) is carefully preserved and has restored examples of 16th and 17th century Spanish colonial architecture. Colonial buildings and churches grace virtually every corner of the old walled city. Discover Puerto Rico's culture and history in the many splendid museums or visit San Juan's cathedral, final resting place of Juan Ponce de León's remains. Beautifully adorned plazas, fortifications and historical sites, add to the beauty of the city. Roam the ramparts of a 400-year-old fort where Spanish soldiers fought off the real pirates of the Caribbean. For centuries, San Juan was a strategic port and a strong base of defense for the shipping lanes entering the Caribbean from Europe. Under constant danger of English, French and Dutch attack, the city was surrounded with massive fortifications.
