Experience the stunning beauty of Golden Prague while learning firsthand about the incredible political and social transformation occurring in the heart of Old Europe. This program focuses on the everyday political workings at every level in this former Soviet satellite. Class days begin at 9:00 AM with an historical overview and lecture, followed by a catered working lunch featuring guest speakers from the leading edge of Czech and European politics (former speakers have included the first Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, the Mayor of Prague, and Members of the European Parliament). After lunch, a panel of distinguished experts will discuss the content of the speaker's remarks with the class. Classes finish at 4:00, giving students ample time to explore this vibrant cosmopolitan city. Detailed pre-trip orientation ensures students don't waste their entire week wandering aimlessly. Included cultural outings and social events with Czech students make this a week packed with exciting potential.
