The Semester in Nepal program provides students an opportunity to spend a semester studying and traveling in Nepal -- a mystical Shangri-la in the Himalayas. It is a semester of intensive academic course work in Nepalese culture and religion together with interesting excursions. All courses and excursions are offered in English. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for students. With its rich Hindu and Buddhist traditions, and its multi-ethnic culture, Nepal is an ideal location for the student seeking an expanded understanding of the world. Academic Coursework A total of 12 to 15 credits could be earned. Coursework is offered each Fall and Spring semester within the premises of SANN Research Institute, Kathmandu. The credits are provided by the various universities in the United States of America. 1. Religions and Culture of Nepal - 3 Credits 2. Socio-political Issues and Service Learning - 3 Credits 3. Basic Nepali Language - 6 Credits 4. Electives (Any one) - 3 Credits - Ecology of Nepal - Photojournalism

Cost Include Description:
Cost includes the roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles to Kathmandu, en route hotel in Bangkok, visa charges, accommodation, meals, excursions, institute fees, in-country local transportation and ground transportation. Students would still have to bear the costs for University fees, passports, visa photos, tips for porters, any optional excursions not part of the program, airport taxes and spending money. Every effort has been made to maintain the lowest possible cost for this program while maintaining a high quality academic program.
