Description:
Study at the International Summer School at Newcastle University in the North of England in 2008. The city of Newcastle was voted Britain's friendliest city in 2005 and ranked as one of the world' s top eight cities to visit. Recently, The Rough Guide listed Newcastle's Nightlife as the #1 UK attraction. Students enrolling in the summer school may also complete a 7-week internship (additional 5 credits) before regular classes begin.
Highlights:
All courses offered include field trips such as 'Indiana Jones style' archaeological digs or visiting Alnwick Castle, the location of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies. The program also includes excursions to Edinburgh, the ancient city of York, and the Lake District - one of the most spectacular national parks in the UK. Students live in residence halls within easy walking distance of the University of Newcastle campus. Breakfast is included.
