Description: Expanish offers study abroad students the opportunity to take the Summer Latin American Studies (LAS) program (offered in Spanish & English) at the Universidad de Austral in Buenos Aires. Students can select from either a Spanish program or an English program, and from either a 4 or 8 week course of study in either language option. Students in both options take courses in Spanish language as well as content courses focusing on Latin American or Argentine issues.

The private and catholic Universidad Austral is known as an outstanding institution for challenging and innovative studies in South America. Austral offers students access to a library, computer labs and internet service, a cafeteria and snack bar, and is an ideal option for students wishing to learn both in the classroom and in the surrounding city of Buenos Aires.

Program Details:
Sessions: Each session is 4 weeks long, students may add both sessions to make an 8 week program
Language Requirement: 3 semester of college level Spanish with B equivalent (or higher) for the LAS Spanish program
Instruction Hours: 90 - 180 hours
Recommended Semester Credits: 6 - 12 credits

Highlights: Expanish offers its study abroad students an unconventional approach to studying abroad in South America, expanding the student experience beyond just the university classroom. One of the cornerstone beliefs at Expanish is that regular Spanish speaking practice outside of the classroom is the key to acquiring a sophisticated understanding of the language, with that in mind, we designed a myriad of opportunities for students to take advantage of when studying abroad in Buenos Aires.

Expanish volunteer placements in Buenos Aires offer students the opportunity to put their skills and abilities to use while volunteering for a cause they believe in. Placements range from community development to youth outreach to animal care, plus many more.

   - Day trip to an Estancia (traditional ranch), Argentina (programs of 8 weeks of more)
