The Intrax Summer Cultural Exploration program in Kunming is ideal for students who want to improve their Chinese and engage with the local culture through community service.

Once an important gateway to the celebrated Silk Road, Kunming is situated in the Yunnan Province, bordering Vietnam, Burma, Laos and the Tibetan Plateau. This fascinating area is rich in history and boasts a diverse cultural mix with over 26 ethnic minorities. Students will attend language classes, experience Chinese culture through organized activities and explore the country on guided excursions.

Learn:

Intensive Chinese classes take place in the morning, Monday through Friday, for three hours per day. To ensure quality instruction, classes are taught by fully qualified Chinese instructors and the average student-to-teacher ratio is 15:1.

Program Requirements:

* No language requirement.
* 15-18 years old.
* Motivated students with a 2.5 GPA or higher on a 4 point scale.
* Mature, flexible, open-minded, and able to adapt to living with a host family.
* Eager for the academic challenge of studying in a foreign school.
* US Citizen/Resident- living in the US.

Highlights: On our 4 week Summer Exploration High School Program you'll share your time between dormitory stay and living with a host family, attend language classes in the morning, enjoy activities in the afternoon, and explore your Italy through fun weekend excursions. No previous language experience is required but a sense of adventure is!

Scholarships are Available. Intrax Study Abroad offers several High School scholarships with the support of our partners. We also encourage students to help pay for their Study Abroad program by fundraising a portion of their program fees. Youth Leader Scholarship: Awards of USD 200 to USD 1,000 are granted to high school study abroad applicants on the basis of academic merit, extracurricular involvement and financial need. Preference will be given to students who are involved in community service and have demonstrated their commitment to studying abroad by raising funds to help cover their high school study abroad program fees.
