Intrax Study Abroad: Explore Mexico! The Summer Cultural Exploration program in Oaxaca City, Mexico is ideal for students who want to improve their Spanish and explore the many cultural wonders that Mexico has to offer. The program includes four weeks of Spanish language courses and homestay accommodation, along with afternoon and weekend cultural and leisure activities. Students interested in community service will have the opportunity to volunteer with a local organization. As a grand finale, the program includes a 3-day trip to Puerto Escondido and the surrounding areas, giving students the opportunity to explore some of the most stunning Pacific beaches that Mexico has to offer! Learn: Intrax Study Abroad welcomes all levels of Spanish students on its programs, from beginners to advanced. Intensive Spanish classes take place each morning, Monday-Friday, for a total of 20 hours of language instruction per week. To ensure quality instruction, the average student-to-teacher ratio is a 5:1. Students are placed in the appropriate level based on a placement exam. The school is located in a beautiful two-hundred-year old building in the center of Oaxaca. The school has 16 classrooms, which surround a patio where students can study or hang out before class. There is also a restaurant and cafe located inside the building. The school is conveniently located just a few blocks from Oaxaca's main square (Zocalo). Program Requirements: * No language requirement. * 14-18 years old. * Motivated students with a 2.5 GPA or higher on a 4 point scale. * Mature, flexible, open-minded, and able to adapt to living with a host family. * Eager for the academic challenge of studying in a foreign school. * US Citizen/Resident- living in the US.
Highlights:
On our 4 week Summer Exploration High School Program you'll live with a host family, attend language classes in the morning, participate in community service activities in the afternoon, and explore Mexico through fun weekend excursions. No previous language experience is required.

Our program fees include round-trip airfare, student health insurance, housing, meals, enrollment in a local high school if applicable, orientation and support throughout the entire program.

Scholarships are Available. Intrax Study Abroad offers several High School scholarships with the support of our partners. We also encourage students to help pay for their Study Abroad program by fundraising a portion of their program fees.
Youth Leader Scholarship:
Awards of $200 to $1,000 are granted to high school study abroad applicants on the basis of academic merit, extracurricular involvement and financial need. Preference will be given to students who are involved in community service and have demonstrated their commitment to studying abroad by raising funds to help cover their high school study abroad program fees.
