Highlights:
Visit two countries during this trip! Students learn about the issues facing female leaders during F2719: Women and Leadership (3 US/6 ECTS Credits) The purpose of this course is to analyze the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of women in leadership positions. Current issues and trends will be examined from historical, sociological, political, and ethical perspectives. Why does women's leadership matter? Do women have an identifiably different way of leading? What structural/institutional/cultural obstacles do women face? How have women confronted/challenged/altered these obstacles? How are how issues relating to women and leadership similar and/or different across cultures? Analysis and synthesis will be used to apply information from a variety of resources to issues facing women who hold or seek leadership roles. A cross-cultural perspective will be provided through exploring case studies including Turkey, Czech Republic, Russia, and the United States. The course is upper-division, taught in English, and fully accredited. Transcripts are issued by Charles University, the oldest university in Eastern Europe. The course is worth 3 US/6 ECTS semester credits. Credits can be transferred upon approval from the student's home university. Cultural Activities Expose yourself to a new culture.
