Description:
Academics The University of Arizona offers this intensive, 6-week Portuguese language and culture program in Fortaleza, Brazil. In addition to the daily classes, the program also includes weekly lectures and films on modern Brazil, as well as visits to nearby cultural sites. The program also includes two overnight field trips. Students will be taught by Brazilian faculty at the host institution, the Universidade Federal do Ceara. Location Fortaleza is a beautiful and modern city located on Brazil's northeastern coast. With over 2 million inhabitants, Fortaleza is the capital of the state of Ceara and is one of the most stable cities in Brazil. Ceara is a tropical and semiarid region that enjoys mild year-round temperatures.

Housing Information Participants live with Brazilian families. The homestay enables students to experience Brazilian culture firsthand and to further develop their Portuguese language skills.
