Discover the country famous for its food, fashion, art, and literature! While most people tend to think of Paris, the "City of Light," France has much more to offer than just one city. From the beaches of Brittany to the Cote d'Azur, the diverse landscape of France consists of forests, farmlands and mountains--including one of Europe's highest peaks, Mt. Blanc. As you study the history and culture of France, you will see for yourself why the French are so proud of their heritage. Art lovers cannot resist France with its history of artists and sculptors--and no one can forget the famous French cuisine!

Intrax Study Abroad offers two Summer Cultural Exploration programs in 2 different regions of France:

Amboise, France - Known as the "Garden of France," the Loire Valley is a beautiful region famous for its cuisine, castles and the purity of its spoken French.

La Rochelle, France - A picturesque and historically rich city on France's Atlantic Coast. This harbor town is known as the most sun-drenched city in France.

Program Requirements:

* No language requirement.
* 15-18 years old.
* Motivated students with a 2.5 GPA or higher on a 4 point scale.
* Mature, flexible, open-minded, and able to adapt to living with a host family.
* Eager for the academic challenge of studying in a foreign school.
* US Citizen/Resident- living in the US.

Highlights: Choose between our 4 week Summer Exploration High School Program (no previous language experience required) or, our Month Immersion program to improve your conversational French skills. On both programs you'll live with a host family and experience the French way of life firsthand. On the Summer Exploration program you'll attend language classes in the morning, enjoy activities in the afternoon, and explore France through fun weekend excursions. If you choose the Month Immersion program you don't attend school.

Participants Travel to France Independently

Scholarships are Available. Intrax Study Abroad offers several High School scholarships with the support of our partners. We also encourage students to help pay for their Study Abroad program by fundraising a portion of their program fees. Youth Leader Scholarship: Awards of USD 200 to USD 1,000 are granted to high school study abroad applicants on the basis of academic merit, extracurricular involvement and financial need. Preference will be given to students who are involved in community service and have demonstrated their commitment to studying abroad by raising funds to help cover their high school study abroad program fees.
