The new SU Beijing Program, located at China's prestigious Tsinghua University, offers students at all language levels an opportunity to study the complexities of contemporary China across disciplines-including history and geography, political science and international relations, and communications.
Highlights:
Designed for both graduate and undergraduate students, the academic program features field study with on-site lectures in Beijing and other cities, language study at all levels, courses taught in English, and other options for those proficient in Mandarin. The Beijing program begins with a two-week field study course taught on site in Xi'an, Beijing, and Shanghai, "China: Past, Present, and Future." It provides an introduction to contemporary China, its diversity of people, and the challenges of fast-track modernization. Through lectures, guest speakers, site visits, and traveling you'll start your exploration of one of the world's oldest civilizations - its glorious past, bitter memories, and ongoing struggle with history and modernity.

Cost Include Description:
The program fee covers all pre-semester seminar travel and accommodations for the two-week seminar, single room accommodation at Tsinghua for the semester, semester field trips in and around Beijing, and other services for which a separate fee is not charged.Students need to budget for their own meals. Tsinghua U has many inexpensive student dining halls on campus. There is an access fee (per use) for some of Tsinghua U's facilities, including health center, computer clusters, and recreational/gym facilities.
