Description:
The Migration & Identity program addresses the dynamics of forced and voluntary international migration, and introduces specific theories pertaining to these dynamics and stemming from various academic disciplines (sociology, human geography, sociocultural anthropology, history, development studies, and political science). The program is made up of two courses: - Human Trafficking and Prostitution (first session); study tour within Denmark (law enforcement institutions, street-level social programs and NGOs). - East Meets West: Migration and Emerging Identities (second session); study tour to Turkey (historical, religious, cultural sites, research institutions). The courses are offered in two consecutive sessions. Students may choose to take one course (3 weeks) for 3 credits or two courses (6 weeks) for 6 credits.
