The Biotechnology & Biomedicine program is designed for students exploring career opportunities within the biotech research and/or biotech business development. * Insights into biotechnology-based methods for diagnosis and treatment of disease * An understanding of the dynamics of drug discovery and development * A global and interdisciplinary perspective on how biotech research and biotech business work together Students enrolled in the Biotechnology & Biomedicine programs will take one six-credit course and participate in two cultural-educational study tours. Beyond the core course, students are free to select any combination of courses from the DIS curriculum, barring scheduling conflicts.
Highlights:
Students in Biotechnology and Biomedicine will enroll in the "Medical Biotechnology and Drug Development" core course, which is an introduction to biomedicine, drug discovery, and drug development. Exploration of opportunities of biotechnology for medicine. Cases from the pharmaceutical and biotech research community. Students in this program will also participate in two course-integrated study tours. A short study tour at the beginning of the semester to Denmark, and a longer European study tour to Edinburgh (Fall), or London (Spring). Both cities are at the center of advanced British research in pharmaceuticals and biotech. The tours feature highly topical visits to biomedical research centers and companies, highlighting topics being studied in class.

Scholarships are Available. The DIS Board of Directors has allocated scholarship funds to help you afford to study in Denmark. Scholarships consist of grants in the range of USD 500 - 2,000 per semester, plus a small number of USD 3,000 and 4,000 grants. Summer scholarships range from USD 300 - 1000 depending on your program selection. All scholarships are awarded based on financial need.
