Tobago Heritage Festival is one of the island's proudest and richest celebrations of Tobago history and culture. The festival recreates Tobago's traditions focusing on the arts -storytelling, dance, drama and music. It starts in mid month (July) and culminates in street carnivals at Plymouth and in Scarborough at month's end. Certain villages host speech bands, and carnival type events. Plymouth is host to the biggest of these. The Heritage Folk Fiesta is the climax of the festival. It is held in Signal Hill. It showcases singing, dancing, drumming, and a tambrin band competition.
