Description:
UC Davis courses Spanish 143 & 198 The program will analyze the history of Spanish art. The first part will focus on Spanish architecture and will cover the following styles: Roman, Pre-Romanesque, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque. Some of the classes will be taught in the actual monuments. The second part will focus on Spanish painting, including the following painters: Velazquez, El Greco, Goya, Picasso, Dali, and Miro. We will visit museums where many of their works are housed: Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofia, and Museo Thyssen Borsemiza. During the program we will have three field trips: Salamanca and Madrid (2 days each) and Bilbao to see the Guggenheim Museum, one of the emblematic monuments of contemporary art. We will also go to a flamenco show in Madrid.

Cost Include Description:
Fees for Summer Abroad are comprised of the Summer Abroad Program Fee, Course Unit Fee, and Accommodation and Activities Fee. The Accommodation and Activities Fee includes lodging, select meals, and select field trips. The program fee covers group health insurance and printed matter. Air fare is not included. Please contact us for the most up-to-date information concerning program costs.Students who enroll before the Accommodations and Activities Fee is posted will be notified via email as soon as the fee is available. If they choose to withdraw within 10 days of this notification, their deposit will be refunded.
