Geneva Internship Program
Switzerland
Term: Fall, Spring
Dates: Fall: early September to mid-December; Spring: mid-January to mid-May
Description:
Boston University's Geneva Internship Program will provide students with the opportunity to connect with and play a role in global concerns through an in-depth professional internship and carefully focused coursework. The program offers two tracks from which students can choose to enroll in: the International Relations, History and Politics track and the Public Health track. It is a semester designed to bring students from international theory to international practice. Upon successful completion of the semester, students will earn 16 Boston University credits. During the first six weeks of the semester, students will enroll in one required course (based on their chosen track) and one elective course. In the final eight weeks, students enroll in an internship and work full-time, four days per week, and also enroll in one elective course.
Highlights:
Internship (four credits) Most students will be placed in one of the many international political, health-related, economic, and humanitarian organizations headquartered in Geneva. Additional internships will be available in arts and arts administration, communications, international business and finance. Internships will be available in both English and French. Geneva is a unique city; although situated in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, its population is one-third non-Swiss, making it one of Europe's most international metropolitan centers. The presence of the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the International Red Cross, and more than 250 other international organizations lets us offer both coursework and internship placements in English, the common language of Geneva's multilingual and cosmopolitan community.
