The Transatlantic Summer Academy (TASA) is organized as a series of courses focusing on recent developments in European political science, history, economics, law and culture. Key topics such as historical and legal overviews and security issues will be included in course discussions. Students will learn about the current restructuring of Europe. The university's approximately 38,000 students make it one of the largest universities in Germany. Thanks to its extensive educational facilities, its outstanding reputation in research and teaching ,and its excellent location, the university ranks among the best in Germany. Additionally, the Office for International Affairs provides participants with administrative and academic assistance and advising.
Highlights:
The program features a series of lectures and seminars given by distinguished speakers and features panel discussions led by German politicians and diplomats. Students will engage in active discussions with faculty and attend workshops on key issues, which are conducted by experts in select fields, and take place at their respective institutions, such as the German Parliament, and the European Union and NATO in Brussels. Bonn is a city of about 350,000 and is an exciting place in which to live and study. Regarded as one of Germany's finest cities, it was the capital of Germany until the fall of the Berlin Wall. Bonn is over 2,000 years old and offers historic monuments as well as the Rhine River. Located near the Dutch, Belgian and French borders, Bonn is a convenient gateway for exploring Europe.
