Description: The European Cultural History Tour is a 70 day tour beginning in London and ending in Athens. The tour visits more than 20 cities in 7 countries in Europe and the Mediterranean. It is a completely unique approach to university study abroad which combines visits to major cultural and historical sites with intense academic study of the culture and history being experienced. It's an ideal learning environment because it integrates reading and writing with direct involvement to give a richer understanding of the subject than book learning alone could possibly provide. Learn about the culture and history of England, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Greece with experienced faculty while earning 12 hours of undergraduate credit in art and history. Students who want a shorter tour 35 day tour may opt for the portions from London to Munich or Zurich to Athens.

Guided museum visits to such places as the Gallerie Dell'Accademia and the Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the Uffizi and the Accademia with its "David" in Florence, the Vatican Museum and the Borghese Gallery in Rome, the Archaeological Museum in Naples, and the National Archaeological Museum in Athens are an integral part of the prgram. On-site lectures at San Marco in Venice, the Piazza della Signoria in Florence, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, St. Peter's Cathedral, ancient Pompeii, the Acropolis in Athens, ancient Olympia and Mycenae, and the Palace of Knossos in Crete bring history to life. Scenic boat trips from Italy to Greece, and from Athens to Crete are included in the program cost.
