KIIS Greece Program
Greece
Term: Summer
Dates: May 25 to June 30
Description:
The KIIS program in Greece offers students the chance to study and travel for five weeks in a country of dramatic natural beauty and rich cultural traditions. The program begins and ends in Athens. Here (as in every place we visit) our hotel is centrally located. The program offers courses in art, English (drama), history, and theatre. Students must register for at least one course for academic credit, but they are encouraged to register for two. Classes are held on the hotel's rooftop.
Highlights:
This KIIS program begins in Athens. After five nights we travel by ferry to the Greek islands. Next we will travel by private motor coach to Delphi, Olympia, and Nauplin. After a breif stopover in Athens, we again board a ferry and travel to Siphnos. We return to Athens before flying back to the US. Greece provides the ideal setting for learning about the ancient Greeks whose literature, political ideas, philosophy, art and architecture continue to shape our lives. Credit is awarded by Murray State University and is transferred to each student's home institution.

KIIS is founded on the conviction that an international experience should be part of the education of as many people as possible.
KIIS programs have four primary objectives:
(1) to establish high-quality, low-cost, academically sound international study programs for students;
(2) to provide faculty from member institutions a means for professional growth;
(3) to create language and culture programs for professionals and develop links with their counterparts in foreign countries; and
(4) to promote the study of foreign languages.
KIIS also seeks to develop new opportunities for international experiences which meet the needs of students, faculty, academic institutions, and community organizations, always taking into consideration the changing times and shifting demands of a global society.
