Description: Welcome to the Utrecht Summer School 2010, a production of Utrecht University (the Netherlands). This year we offer more than 100 courses, representing all disciplines of our university.

Our courses have various target groups. Courses in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, Hard Sciences and the Life Sciences are offered at several levels. Courses on European Culture, Conflict Studies and Art History are specially designed for all bachelor students that show a serious interest in these issues.

Life and Death of Stars, Psycholinguistics and Comparative Law are intended for specialised bachelor or young master students. But also PhD students and young professionals in a number of disciplines will find an interesting offer.

Utrecht Summer School 2009 -2010

Highlights: The Utrecht Summer School aims at providing its participants with an unforgettable stay in Utrecht and the Netherlands. Therefore, parallel to the study programme a social programme has been set up including excursions, sports, social gatherings and festivities. To give you an impression, last year´s programme comprised city trips to The Hague and Maastricht, barbecues, access to sports facilities and trips to our renowned museums. For three years now, the Utrecht Summer School has even been organising its own film festival showing famous Dutch movies (with English subtitles).

Utrecht Summer School by Utrecht University's Mission Statement: The Utrecht Summer School started in 1987, with one course: Dutch Culture and Society. In the last two decades the summer school developed into a broad selection of over 90 courses in virtually all disciplines Utrecht University is offering. In 2009 Utrecht Summer School attracted over 1500 students from over 80 different countries.
