Nestled on the slopes of Devil's Peak, the University of Cape Town (UCT) is South Africa's oldest university, and is one of Africa's leading teaching and research institutions. The University of Cape Town is a vibrant academic community of some 17,000 students. The main campus occupies a beautiful site on the slopes of Table Mountain. This comprehensive university offers a full range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. UCT is also a major center for research and has exchange agreements and links with universities on the African continent and throughout the world. Cape Town offers a unique introduction to Africa, a changing landscape of multicultural contrasts and communities. The city has a well-developed infrastructure, with first-world health care.
