Marco Polo Chinese Language Immersion Program

Dates: May - June / July - August

Description: Student Travel China Summer Programs Abroad are 4-week programs open to both High School and University level students.

All individual summer study abroad include the enrollment in intensive language classes, and some have an in-country travel adventure component. We also combine Language Courses on Weekdays and Student Travel Excursions on weekends by enrolling in a Group Summer Program, individual applicants can be assigned to a group or you can form your own group to travel with your classmates or friends. Registration deadlines are approximately one month prior to the start of each term. Students must be officially registered to the Summer Study Abroad program and receive written confirmation from the Student Travel China admission office.

Program participants can also look forward to adventurous excursions by going to the beach, taking vacations and weekend excursions. Beijing Great Wall Tours are optional and suggested.

Summer programs are also available for teachers and students groups. Student Travel China group programs allow groups to experience the lifestyle and culture by living and working in China.

High School Teachers and College Professors:
High school teachers bringing student groups of 10 or more can travel for free in our program.

Programs take place in in Zhejiang Province, famous for Hangzhou, West Lake, Chinese Tea, Silk Paintings. Local excursions each weekend to Anjii - City Famous for Bamboo and where Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was filmed. Hangzhou - West Lake excursion and touring. Marco Polo isn't just a game kids play in a pool, he actually visited Hangzhou and wrote volumes on its culture and people. The Hangzhou educational tour will get you acclimated to navigating China's public transportation system. Huzhou is noted for its route along the silk road and famous for its beautiful concubines.

College Credit:

Universities have varying acceptance policies towards applying credit towards programs abroad.   It is the students responsibility (prior to enrollment) to determine credit eligibility and obtain any required authorization with their professor or department head.
